"How much does rhinoplasty cost?" — one of the most frequent questions at our clinic. The honest answer: it cannot be quoted without a consultation, and regulations prohibit advertising it anyway. But understanding what determines the price helps you make the right decision.

Why Is There No Published Price?

Two reasons. The first is legal: Turkish healthcare regulations prohibit physicians and medical institutions from advertising prices for medical procedures. Be cautious with websites or social accounts posting "rhinoplasty for X" — this also reflects how carefully a practice follows the rules.

The second is medical: every nose is different. Will it be a purely aesthetic correction, will a deviated septum also be fixed, is it a revision, are cartilage grafts needed — these only become clear at consultation and directly affect the total cost.

The 7 Factors That Determine the Price

1. Surgeon experience and expertise

Rhinoplasty is considered one of the most demanding operations in plastic surgery; millimetric differences change the outcome. An experienced surgeon charges more — but by lowering the likelihood of revision, this is usually more economical in the long run.

2. Technique: classic or piezo?

Piezo rhinoplasty costs more than the classic technique because of the ultrasonic device and its single-use tips. In return it offers less bruising, more precise bone shaping and faster recovery.

3. Scope of the case

4. Operating facility and hospital standards

An operation performed in a fully equipped hospital with an experienced anesthesia team cannot cost the same as one in substandard conditions. Intensive care backup, sterilization standards and patient-safety certifications are all reflected in the cost.

5. Anesthesia

Rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia. The anesthesiologist's experience and the operation time (1.5–3 hours) determine the anesthesia cost.

6. Post-operative follow-up

Always ask what the price includes: follow-up visits, splint and tape changes, additional dressings. In some low offers, follow-up visits are charged separately and the total ends up well above the initial figure.

7. City and clinic location

Prices in Istanbul are generally higher than in Ankara. With its concentration of experienced surgeons and more reasonable cost balance, Ankara is an advantageous city for both domestic and international patients.

The Hidden Cost of Cheap Surgery

Offers significantly below the market average mean costs were cut somewhere: an inexperienced team, inadequate operating facilities, low-quality materials or no follow-up. Correcting a failed rhinoplasty (revision) is both technically harder and more expensive than the primary operation — plus at least a 12-month waiting period and the emotional toll.

Price should never be the only criterion; the surgeon's experience, patient reviews and operating conditions must be evaluated together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are rhinoplasty prices not published on websites?

Healthcare regulations prohibit price advertising for medical procedures. Each case is also unique; a reliable quote is only possible after consultation.

Does insurance cover rhinoplasty?

Purely cosmetic surgery is not covered. Functional corrections such as septum deviation may be partially covered at contracted institutions.

Why is piezo rhinoplasty more expensive?

Because of the device and single-use tip costs plus longer operating time. In return: less bruising and more precise results.

Why does revision rhinoplasty cost more?

Operating on previously treated tissue is technically harder; grafts may be needed, the operation takes longer and demands more experience.

Are very cheap offers trustworthy?

A significantly low price usually means costs were cut somewhere. The cost of revising a failed operation far exceeds doing it right the first time.
